Here’s news from would-be Foxbat owner Bruce Brown, of Cygnet Bay Pearls<\/a>, near Broome in northern Western Australia.\u00a0This is what he says:<\/p>\n

“We are the oldest pearl farm in Australia and for the last 5 years we\u00a0have opened to the public, a situation bought on by the GFC and our need to\u00a0diversify.<\/p>\n

So it was a pleasant surprise this morning when I found a Foxbat sitting on our\u00a0airstrip! Peter and Stephanie set off from Queensland a little\u00a0while ago and are heading all over Australia. Both are keen bird watchers\u00a0and Peter uses the aircraft for\u00a0bird observation\u00a0and recording. A few days before they arrived, we also had a group of other Light Sport Aircraft\u00a0come in and\u00a0stay a few nights.\u00a0We are located about 5 kilometres\u00a0east of Cape Leveque<\/a> which is a popular place for\u00a0touring aircraft to visit.<\/p>\n

\"Cygnet<\/a>We want\u00a0to publicise our airstrip and facilities\u00a0to attract more touring people. We are only 40 miles from the famous ‘Horizontal Waterfalls<\/a>‘ and adjacent to all the rugged Kimberly wilderness\u00a0country. We are only\u00a0100 miles North of Broome\u00a0with our own\u00a01200 metre hard red\u00a0dirt strip with no stones (unlike Cape Leveque Airport<\/a>). With a little prior notice, we can supply fuel and\u00a0we have Safari tents, standard tents, old pearlers’\u00a0cottages, and a camp ground, as well as a restaurant and swimming pool. We\u00a0ferry people from our airstrip to our facilities. We offer pearl farm tours\u00a0and boat tours of the tidal Buccaneer Archipelago.”<\/p>\n
